My west coast seed haul.

Many of us have been dreaming about our gardens and making plans for this growing season, seed catalogues in hand we have vision of glorious flowers and vegetables in our heads.

This year I purchased my collection of seeds from West Coast Seeds, a family based company from Vancouver British Columbia. They ship across North America and have an amazing customer service.

Their purpose is to source and supply seeds of a higher quality than have been available to home gardeners. Following the traditions of organic farming and gardening, untreated and certified organic seeds are their primary focus. They have a wonderful variety of non GMO and hybrid seeds as well as a wide range of quality gardening supplies

West Coast Seeds gives you plenty of information on the seed packet.

I am not an expert in seed starting but I’ve had some experience and West Coast Seeds gives you plenty of information on each seed packet to ensure success. There is information about how and when to seed as well as expected germination rates.

I am very committed to try starting new varieties from seed.

For the most part since I’ve started gardening I’ve always concentrated on my flower garden, I rarely grew plants I could eat. This year I decided to plant some things that I may not have planted previously. I have decided that I will attempt to plant some of my selections from seed and not entirely from starts at the nursery.

That being said I have not abandoned my desire to increase my selection of beautiful flowers in my garden. I am very committed to try my hand at starting some new varieties from seed.

Plant what you love.

Gardening gives me joy and I always want to plant what I love. Planting seeds and taking care of a garden requires work so why not make it a labour of love. Choosing seeds that are of good quality, organic and non GMO will start you on the right path
